Maria Cosima Erbler - Modern Artist
Bio
My name is Maria Cosima Erbler and I'm born on August 4, 1995.
I'm currently living in Vienna, Austria.
I work with oil paint (with an eco mindset) and I prefer to paint on big canvas (2x2).
Since my parents are artists as well I've always been drawn to express myself creatively.
At first, I primarily used photography and cutted some music based videos - one of those videos even got viewed at the Urania in Vienna for the"wienXtra"- contest.
While studying I changed to painting.
Initially I focused on self-portraits however after a recommendation of a friend and a dream I had I changed my approach. In the dream I was showing somebody a painting which moved. Energies and Colors floated out of the middle and got sucked into it as well. After that dream the first "portal" appeared.
My approach to painting
Currently I'm trying out different approaches to painting.
At first, I painted while listening to recommended playlists on youtube - which often evoked exactly the right emotions and brought up the current events and themes that needed to be worked on - that needed healing.
I started to close my eyes to focus on the practice of paining rather than the outcome.
I figured that the emotion would translate best by just purely feeling the feeling that had to be felt.
I never plan my paintings because I don't like planning. Painting for me is a journey. It starts somewhere and can end in a totally different emotion.
I preferably say that something, the divine, spirit, works through me. Especially when I set my own emotions aside and just paint and see what wants to be shown.
